Rex unveils new online video, highlights support for Obama education reforms
Online campaign ad focuses on Rex’s work to bring change to South Carolina’s schools
(COLUMBIA) To mark his official entry into the race last week, State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex, a Democratic candidate for Governor of South Carolina, today unveiled a new campaign video highlighting his support for President Obama’s education reforms and his work in South Carolina to support the President’s goals for the nation’s public schools.
“Jim Rex is not afraid to let the voters know that he supports the President when it comes to education reform,” said campaign director Zeke Stokes. “Like the President, he supports bold, innovative steps to turn our schools around. As Superintendent of Education, Jim Rex has steered South Carolina into the finalist round for Race for the Top funds and worked with the Obama administration to secure funding for schools in the Corridor of Shame, and we are proud of those accomplishments.”
“With Jim Rex in the Governor’s Mansion and President Obama in the White House, we can do great things for the state of South Carolina. Now is not the time to run away from this President – it’s the time to stand up,” said Stokes.
